When You Get to the Pacific Northwest
You're going to love it here.
The Hamilton House is located in the Bridlemile/Raleigh Hills neighborhood of Southwest Portland, and is just 20 minutes from downtown by car. The house is also conveniently close to several grocery stores, restaurants and shopping centers; many of which are in walking distance.
It takes minutes to hop onto any of the nearby highways, which provide easy access to neighboring towns such as Beaverton--where the Nike headquarters is located.
And so will the kids.
The Bridlemile neighborhood itself is a quiet residential area consisting primarily of single family homes. With the Bridlemile Elementary School located nearby, young children have access to two beautiful parks and a playground.

Getting Around Town
Portland has a great public transportation system. The best way to get information about routes and schedules is to visit the Portland Trimet website, where you can purchase affordable daily passes and plan your trip ahead of time.
The MAX Light Rail is a great way to see the entire city as it connects Portland City Center with neighboring towns such as Beaverton, Clackamas, Gresham, Hillsboro, Milwaukie and Northeast Portland. The train also goes directly to the PDX Airport and runs every 15 minutes.
You can explore more of Portland's downtown scene by opting for the Streetcar. With direct stops in the Pearl District, South Waterfront, OMSI, PSU Campus, Lloyd District and NW 23rd––you can be sure you won't miss a thing.
Portland's bus system services most of the Portland metro area and is designed to connect with the MAX Light Rail, Portland Streetcar and the Portland Aerial Tram lines. The #55 bus stops directly in front of The Hamilton House.
If there's anything Portland is known for, it's the bike scene. This bike-friendly city is perfect for exploring with your own wheels, or you can rent a bike through Portland's bike share program. Many electric scooters can be found in most downtown areas, offering an affordable and fun alternative to commuting.
The most practical and convenient way to get around Portland is to travel by car. Guests are encouraged to rent a car anywhere around town or use a ride share service if they will not be bringing their own vehicles.
